About HoK

Honour of Kings is a family-owned and operated business located in central Florida. Owners Matt & Ellen Gerwitz are also the primary authors of all of Honour of Kings’ materials to date. They are committed to assisting parents in their efforts to educate at home, apart from the local school district and/or online learning institutions, in full confidence that parents are the true experts — other than God himself — in raising and training their children. It is the mission of Honour of Kings to help parents raise their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, rather than being an obstacle to them.

Ellen Gerwitz

Ellen Gerwitz

Ellen Gerwitz has been a follower of Jesus since the age of 9 when she heard the gospel for the first time in a Sunday school class. She and her husband, Matthew, have been married since 1988. They homeschooled all three of their children from Kindergarten to 12th grade and led a large support group for homeschooling parents.

Ellen has been passionate about history since her grandmother and father first introduced her to it as a small child. In addition to her love of history, she is also a long-time student of the Spanish language and has written two high school level Spanish courses for homeschool students whom she tutors on a weekly basis. She currently also works from home teaching ESL to Europeans and supports her husband in his role as the pastor of an online church ministry.
